Round 2 Results

Well, round 2 is in the books with no COVID hiccups, but there were some upsets and general rust around the games.  I can imagine it would be quite deflating not playing in front of a crowd, but let’s hope the quality improves from here on in.  Bolded players I feel have locked the 3 votes.  Still early days, sign up here for latest Brownlow odds, but let’s get to it. Collingwood vs Richmond Re-starting the season with a draw was a bit of an anti-climax, but hey, footballs back, that’s a good thing right?  Other possible vote getters to displace Adams could be Houli, Howe or Sidebottom. 3          Scott Pendlebury 2          Trent Cotchin 1          Taylor Adams Geelong vs Hawthorn The Geelong big 3 came to play against the Hawks, Dangerfield in a milestone game, Ablett continuing his amazing form against Hawthorn and Selwood rightfully back where he belongs in the middle. 3          Joel Selwood 2          Gary Ablett 1          Patrick Dangerfield Brisbane vs Fremantle The first and last time Neale played against his old side he said he was really nervous, there was none of those nerves during this game with Lachie locking in the 3 votes.  Fyfe could very well feature in the votes, but I feel Walters played better for the entire game. 3          Lachie Neale 2          Charlie Cameron 1          Michael Walters Carlton vs Melbourne In what looked to be an absolute beat down, Carlton rallied and almost came back to win after being down by 30 odd points in the 1st qtr.  Gawn absolutely dominated in the ruck and gets the 3 votes here. 3          Max Gawn 2          Christian Petracca 1          Clayton Oliver Port Adelaide vs Adelaide 50% of the Port Adelaide team could register votes in this showdown whitewash, it was a real toss up, and wouldn’t be surprised if 3 other Port players locked up the votes.  No confidence in this game at all. 3          Connor Rozee 2          Travis Boak 1          Brad Ebert Gold Coast vs West Coast I won’t dwell on this match for too long because it will just make me angry, pathetic performance by West Coast who made the game look like it was played under terrible conditions, whilst Gold Coast looked like it was being played in the most ideal conditions.  Matthew Rowell, what a beast, easily BOG from what I saw, lock him in for the 3 and the Rising Star. 3          Matthew Rowell 2          Lachie Weller 1          Luke Shuey GWS vs North Melbourne Another upset here with the Roos knocking off the Giants.  Goldstein wound back the clock with a dominant display in the ruck, Higgins with a mesmerizing 2nd qtr, and Zurhaar lively early to kick start the win. 3          Todd Goldstein 2          Shaun Higgins 1          Cameron Zurhaar Sydney vs Essendon Essendon get their 2nd win of the season in a fairly balanced team performance, I gave 2 Swans players 2 spots in the votes, however I wouldn’t be surprised to see McGrath take 1 of those spots. 3          Zach Merrett 2          Luke Parker 1          Jake Lloyd St Kilda vs Western Bulldogs We’re only 2 games in, but the Bulldogs season seems to be unravelling very fast.  Taking nothing away from St Kilda, they made changes, new coach and adding experienced players has worked so far.  I feel these were the best 3 on the ground. 3          Jack Billings 2          Zak Jones 1          Seb Ross That’s a wrap, checkout the leaderboard and team pages for the complete season votes.

Round 10 Results Blog

A great round of football this weekend for round 10, with many very close to being a draw. The count is still tight at the top, but I now have a clear solidified favourite in Clayton Oliver who I tip
