2021 Round 3 Results Blog

I hope everyone had a nice and safe Easter/AFL break, I was able to get away and had a chance to go for fish catching my PB WA Dhufish around the 15kg mark.

Round 3 is done and the leaderboard is starting to take shape with the unexpected rejuvenation of Tex Walker powering to the top of the list. After these first 3 rounds it feels like the return of the full forward and I have to say I wasn’t a fan of the new rules, but I have already felt that this first 3 rounds of 2021 football is well above what we were served up at times last year. Even the blowouts are still exciting due to the big forwards taking marks and kicking goals. All the latest Brownlow odds can be found here.

Brisbane vs Collingwood

Round 3 saw the return of the ruckman with Grundy putting on a clinic, but the Lions stormed home taking the easter eggs in this one.

North vs Western

Yikes is all I can say about this one and the Roos season going forward…

Adelaide vs Gold Coast

Tex Walker kicks another bag in the Crows 2nd win in 3 seasons. He looks to be fit and firing even in their big loss in round 2. He’s still currently paying around the $67 and worth a dabble in my opinion.

Richmond vs Sydney

The Sydney rebuild seems to have forgotten about the step where they “rebuild”, knocking off the 2020 premiers in convincing fashion. The young guns of Sydney continue to get the job done.

Essendon vs St Kilda

Incredible disappointing effort from the Saints who are meant to be on their way up, but instead getting belted by a very undermanned and rebuilding Bombers outfit. Jordan Ridley is an absolute star.

West Coast vs Port

Can you believe I tipped against my team here… I guess it's the one time you can be happy when you get a tip wrong. After a couple of lacklustre weeks and a serve by Simmo, Gaff is back. Shuey looked back too until he re-did his hammy which is a huge blow for West Coast. Port looked so good prior to this game and usually play well in Perth in recent times.

Carlton vs Fremantle

Fremantle were woeful here, not sure why I tipped them in this one, they never fail to let me down...imagine being a supporter. Another big forward kicked a bag in McKay and with so much limelight on the goal kickers I think they will be looked at for votes more so than years past.

GWS vs Melbourne

Time to give up on tipping I think and stick to Brownlow voting. Started off 3/3, then it was all downhill. GWS are making it look like it’s also going to be one long slide since their grand final experience. Big Max Gawn so what Grundy did on Thursday night and decided to step up too. The clamps were on Oliver and I fear the same will happen next week, watch for his odds to push out.

Geelong vs Hawthorn

Hawks made a late run, but Geelong took this one out led by Guthrie who has carried on from his 2020 season form. One to watch with Selwood and Danger another year older and Cam coming into his own.

We’ve made our way to the first bye week, and almost lost a game or two due to COVID, but we got a full round in the end. This week just my votes, and my guy Clayton Oliver is in some blistering form

Round 10 Results Blog

A great round of football this weekend for round 10, with many very close to being a draw. The count is still tight at the top, but I now have a clear solidified favourite in Clayton Oliver who I tip
